Practice and Philosophy
Practice Description
My practice involves mostly assessment and treatment
of adults ages 35 and older. Individuals 34 and younger with
medical problems are also treated. The practice is divided
among existential psychotherapy, behavioral medicine, presurgical
psychological screenings, and marital therapy. Specialties
include sleep disorders, chronic pain, trauma, depression,
anxiety, infertility, psychosomatic disorders, infidelity,
and midlife concerns. Treatment modalities include psychotherapy,
marital therapy, and clinical hypnosis. I am also on the
graduate doctoral psychology faculty at the University of
La Verne and the clinical faculty as an Adjunct Clinical Professor
of Psychiatry at Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
Finally, I am on staff at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center
and Casa Colina Hospital for Rehabilitative Medicine.
Philosophy
work with people who are distressed about their lives and
want to make their lives more satisfying. My hope is that
each person with whom I work wants to be more of the kind
of person they feel they can be but haven’t
yet been able to be. In doing so, each person can become genuinely
close with important others and be able to get past their
own invisible barriers. For most of us, there is more awaiting
us inside ourselves that can push us to live fuller, richer,
and more rewarding lives.
