Practice
and Philosophy
Practice Description
Jennifer offers group yoga instruction at several facilities
in Claremont. Her classes are designed to make the healing
practice of yoga more accessible. Some classes address specific
needs, and students of all ability levels are welcomed.
Philosophy
A person would go to a yoga class to practice more skillful
breathing (pranayama), to settle mental static (meditation),
and to inhabit one's body more effectively (asana). Yoga postures
are practiced to improve strength, flexibility and balance,
and can do a lot towards improving one's wellness and overall
quality of life. Yoga provides a map of what to avoid and
what to seek out: this is what I find so appealing and wonderful
about Yoga. I have been influenced by the Iyengar tradition
and the Anusara system, and am currently studying philosophy
with the renowned teacher Kofi Busia. I am inspired to continually
grow in this 5,000 year old expansive world of Yoga.
