Practice and Philosophy

Practice Description
I am a California licensed Naturopathic Doctor. I utilize natural medicine including clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, and lifestyle counseling to treat common medical conditions. My main area of focus is prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hormone imbalance, digestive disorders, and immune related conditions.

Philosophy
I strongly believe the principles and philosophies of Naturopathic medicine: (1) Identifying and removing the underlying cause(s) of disease, (2) Recognizing the healing power of nature, (3) Utilizing safe and effective natural treatments, (4) Treating the whole person and not merely the symptoms of the disease, (5) Educating patients, "doctor as teacher", and (6) Emphasizing prevention.

Educational Background
I am a graduate of Bastyr University, known internationally as one of the leading institutions in the field of natural medicine. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree from University of British Columbia, in Canada in Biopsychology.

Specialized Training
In April 2006 I became certified as a Therapeutic Lifestyle Program Health Care Provider. This has provided me with extra tools to further provide one-to-one counseling for patients with chronic health problems.
