Practice and Philosophy
Practice Description
I have been counseling the elderly, adults, teens
and children for nearly fourteen years. Areas of specialty
include: ADD/ ADHD (attention problems), assessment of learning
disabilities, parenting issues, sexual abuse, trauma, depression,
anxiety/ panic disorders, work related stress, post-traumatic
stress disorder, sexual addictions and disorders, and drug
and alcohol
issues.
Philosophy
I seek to bring healing to the body, mind and soul from a
holistic and natural perspective. It is my belief that the
body and mind can heal itself if given the necessary healing
environment. If a natural remedy is possible for ADD/ADHD
or depression or anxiety it will be discussed. At times however,
medication may
be needed for certain conditions and the pro’s and con’s
of this will be provided. In addition to traditional talking
therapy, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, essential oils and supplements
are used when appropriate. These are modalities that may help
open up the mind and body to its natural healing process.
