Practice and Philosophy
Practice Description
Tamson specializes in working with individuals, couples,
families and children who find they are having difficulties
or conflict in their relationships, and who may not be functioning
as effectively in their lives as they would like to be.
Much of the work Tamson does with clients is based in Gestalt
therapy, with an emphasis on here-and-now experiencing, personal
empowerment, communication skills and self-esteem. She assists
her clients in identifying their own priorities, values and
challenges and supports them as they discover how to live
more fully in alignment with their values.
Tamson is also a divorce and child custody mediator. She
provides an alternative to adversarial divorce or child custody
proceedings by helping clients develop solutions that will
meet the best interests of the both parties, and especially
the needs of their children.
Philosophy
Tamson’s therapeutic philosophy, grounded in Gestalt
thinking, believes in facilitating the integration of each
client as a whole: Mind / Body / Spirit. She collaborates
with her clients and other CWP professionals to create an
individual treatment plan designed to support each client
in improving their relationships and well-being.
In her personal life, Tamson is committed to living in integrity
with her own values, including doing work that she believes
will benefit others. Being a therapist focused on helping
clients create deeper and more meaningful relationships with
themselves and with others is an important part of living
in alignment with that value.
Tamson enjoys being outdoors, yoga, gardening, home restoration,
reading, traveling, photography and knitting. Tamson is an
avid “snail mail” correspondent, and keeps in
touch with family and friends who live out of town, out of
state or out of the country with her ever-expanding collection
of cards and stationery.
